Founder’s Message
For more than twenty years, I’ve worked with children and youth across a wide range of sports and community programs. I’ve coached everything from cross-country to track and field, supported cross-training for soccer, volleyball, fastball, and gymnastics athletes, and mentored new coaches stepping into leadership roles. Across all of those experiences, one thing became undeniable: far too many programs asked kids to perform before they were taught to move.
I saw gaps everywhere in balance, coordination, confidence, and basic physical literacy. And I saw how those gaps held young people back, both in sport and in everyday life.
Becoming a parent pushed that realization even further. When my own children began participating in programs, I saw the exact same inconsistencies and barriers I had been noticing for years. It became clear that young athletes, families, and even coaches needed something different, something more foundational, more thoughtful, and more consistent.
That is why Inspiring Athletics exists, and has evolved.
We are here to bring movement fundamentals to the forefront. To create clear, confidence-building experiences that give every participant, regardless of background or ability, the skills they need to move well, thrive in sport, and stay active for life.
This work is bigger than me. It has grown beyond the observations I made as a coach and parent. Inspiring Athletics is now a community-focused organization with a mission to strengthen the foundations of movement for everyone. I’m proud of where this started, but I’m even more excited for what it can become, and the impact we can make together.

About Inspiring Athletics
Inspiring Athletics grew out of two decades of frontline experience working with youth aged 1 to 18 across multiple sports, community programs, and coaching environments. From early childhood movement activities to cross-training for competitive athletes, our founder repeatedly saw the same challenge: traditional sport pathways often overlook foundational movement skills.
Kids were being asked to run, jump, throw, balance, and coordinate without a solid base creating frustration, preventable injuries, and missed opportunities. Coaches, clinics, educators, and families were left trying to fill the gaps on their own.
Inspiring Athletics was created to solve that problem.
Our Evolution
What began as one coach’s effort to bridge movement gaps has evolved into a community-centered organization dedicated to physical literacy, long-term athlete development, and inclusive access to quality movement experiences.
Over time, our work expanded from single-sport coaching to:
- Cross-sport movement development
- Capability
- Enjoyment
- Long-term participation
- Health and community wellbeing
This evolution reflects a shift from individual insight to community-wide impact. Inspiring Athletics is no longer just a response to one coach’s experiences it is a structured, evidence-informed approach that addresses a real need shared by families, sport organizations, educators, and health professionals.
Where We Are Now
Today, Inspiring Athletics exists to empower people through foundational movement experiences that build:
- Confidence
- Capability
- Enjoyment
- Long-term participation
- Health and community wellbeing
Everything we do supports the belief that every person deserves the movement skills and opportunities required to thrive in sport and in life.
